Sedona’s Crescent Moon Ranch
Sedona’s Crescent Moon Ranch is the 12th version that I’ve created of this iconic and colorful southwest red rock formation known as Cathedral Rock. It seems I just can’t get enough of this contemporary red rock formation.
Below is the reference I used to create this cool painting of Sedona’s Crescent Moon Ranch. Being a Sedona contemporary artist, I decided to get creative with the colors and change it up from the typical brown barn with green glass. What drew me to this image was the fence and trail leading off to the distance. I love how it takes the eye from the foreground to the base of the trees.
You’ll notice that the clouds accomplish the same thing, bringing you to the distant trees. From there, I purposely left the yellow foreground empty so that the eye can have a resting place.
Sedona’s Place for Recreation
It should come as no surprise that the picnic area located here is as popular as it is breathtakingly beautiful. People come here to fish, swim, and wade in the creek, as well as to picnic and photograph the scenery. Sedona’s Crescent Moon Ranch is also a unique place for weddings, as you can well imagine!
Crescent Moon Spiritual Area
Discover this spiritual/mediation site, which is nothing short of surreal- Crescent Moon Spiritual Area. To enter this area, follow the Oak Creek northeast by taking the trail next to the barn and corral. The path seems to end at a large flat rock that covers most of the ground. However, the trail restarts at the far end by the Oak Creek. This is a wonderful area to meditate.
