Creekside Cathedral is a Sedona Vortex
My first attempt at using oils was Creekside Cathedral and because it is a Sedona Vortex, I thought it appropriate. I was only painting in watercolor, and I wanted to be known as an American artist living in Sedona. So, in 2012 I met a wonderful artist by the name of Donny Blackburn, who took me under his wing and taught me how to create a Sedona landscape oil painting.
Variations on Cathedral Rock
This image of Sedona’s Cathedral Rock is one of my favorites, and so I’ve created this oil painting in 9 different other versions. Sacred Reflections, Fire in the Sky, Church House Rock, Cathedral Rock, Sedona’s 1st Light & Cathedral Magic. All of these Sedona landscape versions, of course, are a Vortex. Cathedral Rock captures the timeless Beauty called Sedona. Iconic is Cathedral Rock, come to Sedona and see it first hand. This Sedona landscape painting of Creekside Cathedral shows off the west side of Cathedral Rock, and of course, Sedona art prints are also available, like canvas, paper & metal prints.
Warner Bros. Choose Creekside Cathedral
What’s cool is that this whimsical landscape painting of a Sedona Vortex was the one chosen by Warner Bros.for their media series “Snatchers.” which is a horror comedy series about high schooler Sara, who wakes up pregnant…with an alien baby. Now she’ll have to team up with her ex-best friend Hayley to fight the extraterrestrial threat and save the world.
Back Story of Creekside Cathedral
The finger’s of this Sedona landscape painting is a Vortex. The spires are sometimes known as “The Lovers.” So, as the story goes, a very long time ago, a Great Spirit watched a couple continually arguing. Then one day, he had the lovers turn around and look. Look they did out into the world at all the beauty that is Sedona. Great Spirit asked them to count their blessings. From that day forward, they have been in constant harmony. Whimsically kept in a Sedona daydream.
Weddings in Sedona
Cathedral Rock is the #1 destination location for Sedona Weddings. With that being said, Red Rock Crossing with the Oak Creek in the background is absolutely breathtaking. In fact, out of ALL the locations in this magical place, we call Sedona. This was where I personally got married!
