About the Artist
I am a painter. I’m always exploring my own mind and in turn my art and its direction. My art always takes a strong attitude. Always expect surprise from my inner child, as that is where my art comes from. To view my art is to communicate with my passion, all the while exploring the drama of southwest landscapes and the natural beauty they form. The colors, shapes and peaceful imagery inspire me to paint.
I enjoy the challenge of the creative process, creating from a blank canvas is both rewarding and daunting. When I start out painting I have no idea where it is going. I improvise along the way. I like to sit back and let the brush lead me. I’m along just for the ride, letting the painting take me away.
Pres. George W. Bush is the proud owner of award-winning artist McShep’s "Patriotic Longhorn" which the artist painted after the tragedy of 9-11.
McShep’s work has been seen in SouthwestArt Magazine, Cowboys and Indians, and American Cowboy, to name a few. His works of art adorn the walls of the Mojave Grill, The Blue Cactus, El Coyote and Rattlesnake Ranch restaurants. First People’s Gallery in Colorado, Canyon Gallery, Sedona and ADP Corporate HQ have also shown his work. McShep has licensed his artwork to the KRT Mint for limited edition porcelain collector’s plates, and MJ International Corp. which is the premier Kitchen Decor wholesale company, offering the world's largest selection of Kitchen Decor products. . |
